"Helpful site before our zoo trip"
I checked out pittsburghzoo with my kids before we went to the zoo, and it was actually helpful. The animal pages were easy for them to understand without being boring, which I appreciated. My son even started asking questions after we read some of the conservation info, so that was actually a nice surprise. It’s a simple, kid-friendly site if you want them to learn a little and not just scroll through animal pictures.

"We had an okay time at…"
We had an okay time at the Pittsburgh Zoo. Some parts were really nice, and there were a few spots where the kids got to see animals close up, which they definitely loved. But yeah, animal visibility was kind of all over the place. A lot of the enclosures looked empty, or the animals were tucked way in the back where you could barely see them. I totally get that animals do their own thing, but after walking around for hours, it was a little disappointing. Still a decent place to visit, just wish we had gotten to see more.

"Decent Zoo Food, But I’d Still Be Wary"
The food was actually fresh and the drinks were nice and cold, which was a pleasant surprise for a zoo. Prices were about what I expected, not cheap, but not outrageous either. I didn’t have any issues, but I’m always a little skeptical when it comes to customer service at places like this, so I wouldn’t count on much help if something did go wrong.

"Nice Zoo, but Too Crowded to Fully Enjoy"
The zoo itself was actually nice, and the exhibits were worth checking out, but the crowds took away from the experience. There were long lines in a lot of spots, and the areas around the popular animals felt really packed. We still had an okay time overall, but for the price and effort of going, I expected it to be a little more enjoyable and easier to walk around without constantly bumping into people.

"We went during the fall ZooBoo…"
We went during the fall ZooBoo event, had a really good time. The kids loved the candy spots, and it was nice seeing some of the animals out, too. We also came back for the holiday lights, and it ended up being nicer than I expected. It wasn’t too crowded or overwhelming, just a fun, easy walk around. Parking was simple enough, and the website had the hours and event details laid out clearly. Definitely 5 stars from us, we’ll be going back

"Cute little stop before heading out..."
We popped into the gift shop before leaving and had a fun time just browsing around... tons of cute animal-themed stuff, shirts, toys, and little gifts. Prices were pretty much what I expected for a zoo, maybe a little high on a few things, but nothing too wild. The staff was friendly and checkout was quick too. The kids were happy with what they picked out, so it’s 5 stars from us.....

"Fun at First, But the Waiting Got Old"
Some of the activities were actually fun, and I enjoyed them when I finally got to do them. But the lines got boring really fast, and after a while it kind of felt like I was stuck there with no way to make the day move along. I wanted to have a better time, but most of the experience ended up being waiting around.

I’m usually a bit guarded when I’m somewhere new, but the staff were genuinely super friendly the whole day. They made everything feel easy and comfortable without being pushy, which I really appreciated.

"Great zoo day with kids"
Took my kids here and we had really nice day. It was easy to walk around, plenty for them to see, and good spots to stop when they got tired. Felt very family friendly and not stressful at all, which made it a easy, fun day for us

"Nice visit, but the costs added up"
We had a good day at the zoo overall. The animals and exhibits were nice, so it was still enjoyable. But the tickets were already a bit expensive, and then the food cost more than expected too, so the whole trip ended up feeling pricey

We got the zoo membership and have already used it several times. it pretty much pays for itself if you go more than once, which, with kids, is not exactly hard to do. They love it every single time, even when we end up visiting the same animals again and again. No complaints here.

The zoo was okay overall, but finding a restroom was way more annoying than it should’ve been. We had kids with us and it felt like we were walking forever, plus some of the signs weren’t very clear. For what we paid to get in, I expected things to be a little easier and better organized. it ended up being a frustrating day.

"Actually Impressed With the Staff"
Visited the Pittsburgh Zoo i was a little surprised by how knowledgeable the staff was. We asked a few random questions about the animals, fully expecting the usual vague answers you sometimes get at places like this, but nope — they actually knew what they were talking about. One keeper even explained the feeding habits to my kids in a way they could understand, which was refreshing because, shockingly, kids do better when people don’t talk over their heads. It made the whole visit a lot more fun than I expected.

"Worth It for a Day Out"
I figured for the price it would be a decent way to spend the day, i was right. It was fun, easy, and didn’t feel like I overpaid. I’d say it’s a good pick if you just want a simple day out without thinking too much about it.

"Parking was easy, but the info was confusing"
Parking itself was super easy, the lot was close by, and we had no trouble getting out after our visit. The only annoying part was that the communication beforehand wasn’t very clear, so we weren’t totally sure where to go at first. Once we figured it out, everything was fine.
